Lotus Dome by Studio Roosegaarde is a living dome made out of hundreds of ultra-light aluminium flowers that fold open in response to human behavior, see the video below.

When approached, the big silver dome lights up and opens its flowers. Its behavior moves from soft breathing to a more dynamic mood when more people interact. The light slowly follows people, creating an interactive play of light and shadow.
LOTUS DOME is a living dome made out of hundreds of smart flowers which fold open in response to human behavior. Deep inside the 17th-century Sainte Marie Madeleine Church in Lille LOTUS DOME creates an interactive play of light and shadow.

As a futuristic vision on the Renaissance LOTUS DOME merges elements of architecture and nature into an interactive environment.

The graphic representations of the lotus flower on the walls, and the deep bass sound, transforms the Renaissance environment into a ‘Techno-Church’.
