Creative Freedom. Result: stunning beauty

When I watch this short movie “Valtari” by Christian Larson, each time I get goosebumps and am amazed about the perfection of dancers, the choreography by the great Belgian Sidi Larbi Chercaoui, the atmosphere created withe the wonderful music by Sigur Ròs and the beauty of the cold, greenish-grey, empty fabric surrounding.
But there are 14 of great shortfilm for Sigur Ròs’s new album Valtari, because they have given  a dozen film makers the same modest budget and asked them to create whatever comes into their head when they listen to songs from the band’s new album valtari.

the idea is to bypass the usual artistic approval process and allow people utmost creative freedom. among the filmmakers are ramin bahrani, alma har’el and john cameron mitchell.

Watch it on full screen!

It is a great experiment and I was-and am still excited about this work. Have a look at the other superb short films on at the Valtari Mystery Film Experiment. Thanks Sigur Ròs for your eager to achieve more then mainstream.
