Master Spanish craftsman showcase their geometrically intricate woodworking styles

Los Tres Juanes is a specialist company dedicated to creating historic woodwork in styles unique to the south of Spain. Their master craftsmen not only carry out pain-staking restorations, but also create new constructions for museums, churches and palaces. The company’s main activities include the construction of Nasrid-inspired roof frameworks, Alfarjes (polygon-shaped painted ceilings) and Mudejar-style coffered ceilings.

Their work is mainly exported to Bahrain and Algeria and can also be admired in the ceiling of the Picasso Museum in Malaga and in the restored ceiling of the UNESCO-classified Alhambra Palace in Granada, which has breathtaking Arabic detailing.

AMSOLUTLY AMAZING.

Is it real?

Fashion is pushed further  to the future. BURBERRY had a celebration of British Weather, Fashion and Music and showed a holographic fashion show, which is stunning. At the 13.4.2011 Burberry showed their force in being creative, innovative and open for the “new” digital interactive design fields, it is well done but they are not the first to show fashion by using holograms. Alexander McQueen also has done a hologram spectacle with Kate Moss a few years ago (click here to watch) and Diesel also showed a fashion show (click here to watch) with models and  futuristic world of bioluminescence, giant mechanic cephalopods.

It is interesting where the path of fashion is leading to… I love it.

And  a big hug to my dear friend R., who sent me the video!

today I just want to show you three advertising videos, which I like a lot.

First is a slow motion ballet video for the Bayrisches Staatsballett. Well captured movement. Beautiful!

Second video is for kurzundschön, an international tv commercial motion design and short film competition for young creatives… and it is just stunning.

The third video is for a japanese mobile phone. Real great idea!

Fluid Sculpture

Here is a video of the fluid-tube-knitted-sculpture  by designer  Charlie Bucket . The Idea and the construction is just stunning… It is composed of tubes knitted together and then he made even a Fluid Dress out of it, which is nowadays exhibited in Linz, Austria, at the Ars Electronica . just enjoy watching the videos!

B.C. New York

Bill Cunningham, who is over 80 years old, has been shooting street style for The New York Times since the Sartorialist was just a whippersnapper. But while he’s wildly influential Cunningham lives a notably unglamorous life, sleeping in a tiny studio filled with file cabinets. In 2010, filmmaker Richard Press and Philip Gefter of The Times produced a documentary about Cunningham, his bicycle, and his camera, entitled Bill Cunningham New York. The film’s American theatrical release is scheduled for March 16, 2011.

“Cunningham photographs people and the passing scene in the streets of Manhattan every day. Most of his pictures, he has said, are never published. Designer Oscar de la Renta has said, “More than anyone else in the city, he has the whole visual history of the last 40 or 50 years of New York. It’s the total scope of fashion in the life of New York.” Though he has made a career out of unexpected photographs of celebrities, socialites, and fashion personalities, many in those categories value his company. According to David RockefellerBrooke Astor asked he be invited to her 100th birthday party, the only member of the media so honored.“via Wikipedia

go on the street and have a look

Just to have some basic knowledge about the great people who are changing the fashion business and are not known for each of us. Scott Schuman is one of them, who transformed the way about showing fashion and the acceptance of fashion to the world. I do not look often on their stylish street blogs but it can be a real good research tool.

Scott Schuman is the creator of the popular fashion blog “The Sartorialist“. ”The Sartorialist” quickly became a regular read for fashionistas, both on the street and in the upper echelons of the industry. Schuman was hired to do similar coverage for Condé Nast’s style.com, and has covered shows during New York’s Fashion Week.

after looking at these style blogs you can really wear everything what you want, you just have to give a shit about what people think of you!

lots of stereotypes but really well done

Kanye West is in my eyes an absolute trendsetter. Before his release of his future album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” the American artist released his first one 35 minutes duration film ” Runaway” with amazing sequences. It is a creative mixture of exclusive titles and scenes. In the film, which you can see here at the Fubiz website, I love the part with the black ballet dancers (14-23min). It is capturing the beauty of the dancers and the whole surrounding in a gentle extraordinary way…  Even sometimes it is stereotypic, with its fireworks, smoke, but all together it is wow wow wow!!!

just the best fashion videos

here the new video from Gareth Pugh’s new Spring/Summer 2011 Collection. It’s not my style but the video is just always great and Ruth Hogben is doing a perfect job!! Here you see an older article about Gareth Pugh! What I like about him is the great choice of exclusive materials he uses as this time the specular-silver-film bands.

dance at the beach

Short a 3 minute old film presenting the choreography and the dances of the collective of breakdance Dutch Illusionary Rockaz. Heading “IRC Dance Movement”, the plans are connected on a tape its Off Porcelain – Signal the Captain. ( seen at Fubiz). Nice old looking couleur and graphics involved in some jumping scenes.
